Every spring San Francisco hosts GDC – The Game Developers Conference, the world’s largest and longest running professionals-only game industry event. UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) invites UK game industry pioneers to apply to participate in UK@GDC Showcase & Lunch. Ideal participants are indie game studios, middleware, tool, or service companies who are seeking to develop their US business strategy. Only 40 Participants will be selected to showcase their business to key decision makers from leading US Game Portals, Publishers, Distributors, Investors and Media, with the purpose of exploring market opportunities and crafting strategic relationships.
In previous years representatives from Electronic Arts, Facebook, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony and Apple have attended UK Trade & Investment events during GDC. We expect them to return again this year.

Apply now to join UK@GDC 2013: Showcase & Lunch! Deadline to apply is 1 March 2013. Applications will be reviewed and participants selected by an elite group of VCs, industry leaders, with input from UK Trade & Investment. Successful candidates will be notified of their selection by 4 March 2013.
Showcasing Participants:
Each selected company will have a tabletop demonstration stand and signage at the networking event to showcase their product or service. Companies will be clustered by game genre and service. Profiles of participating companies will also be included in a promotional brochure.

UK@GDC 2013: Showcase & Lunch activities will be delivered through UKTI’s Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS). Once you are accepted onto the mission, UKTI will create an OMIS account for you. In order to participate in the mission, you will need to log on to your OMIS account, accept the “workplan” (contract for mission activities), and make payment of the £100 (excluding VAT) registration fee with a credit card, debit card, or bank transfer. If you wish to pay by cheque, you will need to contact your International Trade Adviser, who will be named on your OMIS account. Payment must be received by 8 March 2013 to guarantee your space in the Showcase.
